Quiver Representations in Toric Geometry

چکیده
This article is based on my lecture notes from summer schools at the Universities of Utah (June 2007) and Warwick (September 2007). We provide an introduction to explicit methods in the study of moduli spaces of quiver representations and derived categories arising in toric geometry. The first main goal is to present the noncommutative geometric approach to semiprojective toric varieties via quivers. To achieve this, we use geometric invariant theory to construct both semiprojective toric varieties and moduli spaces of quiver representations. The second main goal builds on the first by presenting an introduction to explicit methods in derived categories of coherent sheaves in toric geometry. We recall the notion of tilting bundles with examples, and describe the McKay correspondence as a derived equivalence in some detail following Bridgeland, King and Reid. We also describe extensions of their result beyond the G-Hilbert scheme to other fine moduli spaces of bound quiver representations.

Stability of Quiver Representations and Topology Change
We study phase structure of the moduli space of a D0-brane on the orbifold C3/Z2 × Z2 based on stability of quiver representations. It is known from an analysis using toric geometry that this model has multiple phases connected by flop transitions. By comparing the results of the two methods, we obtain a correspondence between quiver representations and geometry of toric resolutions of the orbi...
متن کاملProjective Toric Varieties as Fine Moduli Spaces of Quiver Representations
This paper proves that every projective toric variety is the fine moduli space for stable representations of an appropriate bound quiver. To accomplish this, we study the quiver Q with relations R corresponding to the finite-dimensional algebra End (⊕ r i=0 Li ) where L := (OX , L1, . . . , Lr) is a list of line bundles on a projective toric variety X . The quiver Q defines a unimodular, projec...

متن کاملModuli of Mckay Quiver Representations I: the Coherent Component
For a finite abelian group G ⊂ GL(n, k), we describe the coherent component Yθ of the moduli space Mθ of θ-stable McKay quiver representations. This is a not-necessarily-normal toric variety that admits a projective birational morphism Yθ → Ak /G obtained by variation of GIT quotient. As a special case, this gives a new construction of Nakamura’s G-Hilbert scheme Hilb that avoids the (typically...
متن کاملModuli of Mckay Quiver Representations Ii: Gröbner Basis Techniques
In this paper we introduce several computational techniques for the study of moduli spaces of McKay quiver representations, making use of Gröbner bases and toric geometry. For a finite abelian group G ⊂ GL(n, k), let Yθ be the coherent component of the moduli space of θ-stable representations of the McKay quiver. Our two main results are as follows: we provide a simple description of the quiver...
